Managing organic waste efficiently is a growing challenge for schools and educational institutions. The BioBowser Composter offers a sustainable solution, transforming organic food and garden waste into fertiliser in just 24 hours—all
without the need for constant supervision.
A simple and automated solution
The BioBowser Composter is a fully automated waste management system designed to handle a variety of organic waste, including:
• Fruit and vegetable scraps, eggshells, and leftovers
• Meat, fish, and small bones
• Bread, rice, compostable bags, and cutlery
• Leaves, grass clippings, and animal manure
How it works
The process is odourless, emission-free, and requires no harmful chemicals, making it ideal for schools, universities, and residential settings. For any minimal odours generated, the system’s exhaust can connect to a closed sewage line, ensuring a clean and hygienic environment.
Using the BioBowser is a straightforward, feed-and-forget process. Organic waste is fed into the inlet, where an inbuilt corrosion-resistant shredder breaks it down. The waste then enters the conversion chamber to begin composting. There’s no need for additional enzymes—just a bacteria starter culture is added with the first batch, and optional cultures can enhance future results.

A secondary inlet allows operators to add semi-liquid waste and check the status of the process. At the end of the cycle, the machine reduces the waste volume by up to 90 percent, producing a dry, soil-like fertiliser ready to use in gardens or lawns.
Customisation for every school’s needs
The BioBowser Composter is available in capacities ranging from 25kg to 2,000 kg of waste per day. Schools with larger waste volumes can install multiple units to meet their needs. Its robust mechanical protection system helps prevent damage—sensors and alarms alert operators if any hard or inorganic material, such as glass or metal, is mistakenly fed into the machine.
The composter comes in two models to suit different budgets and environments:
• FSS Model: built from high-grade stainless steel, ensuring durability and rust resistance for decades.
• PSS Model: made with powder-coated mild steel for an economical option, though with a shorter lifespan. Both models feature stainless steel internal tanks and input/output doors for maximum hygiene.
Energy efficiency and smart features
The BioBowser Composter prioritises energy efficiency with a builtin moisture sensor. Once the composting process is complete and the appropriate moisture level is reached, the machine automatically enters Power Saving mode. There’s no risk of burning the waste, and operators can easily unload the finished product with a simple touch of the screen. Optional IoT connectivity allows remote monitoring via a mobile app
or web platform, ensuring that the system runs smoothly at all times.
Turn waste into value
The fertiliser produced by the BioBowser Composter can be used across your school grounds to nourish gardens, lawns, and landscaping projects. By mixing it with soil in a 1:10 ratio or layering it under the topsoil, your school can promote sustainable practices while enhancing its green spaces.
